Bog Standard on the Radio
BBC Radio London Monday 11 June 2007 | School toilets and the Bog Standard campaign were featured on BBC Radio London this morning on the Breakfast Show. The feature was recorded live at Wimbledon Park Primary School following the 7am and 8am news.
Interviewed in the older girls' refurbished toilets were headteacher Dee Russell, Bog Standard's chief organiser Nickie Brander, and six of the pupils in year 6 – Dwain (head boy), Jack (House Captain), Ellie, Georgia, Bridie and Rosa - who helped to design the girls' and boys' toilets. The girls' toilets have yellow cubicles, with bright red and blue doors, colourful polka dot walls, piped music, air freshener, toys on the window sill, framed pupils' artwork, and are kept clean. The school plans to fit matching polka dot toilet seats and lids.
