ERIC (Education and Resources for Improving Childhood Continence)
This is the charity which organises Bog Standard. It provides information and support to children, parents and health professionals about childhood wetting and soiling problems.
School Councils UK
School Councils UK is supported by the Department for Education and Skills and works with Local Education Authorities. It helps schools set up and run their own school councils.
The British Toilet Association
This organisation aims to improve standards of ‘away from home’ toilets, which include school toilets.
The Community Practitioners’ and Health Visitors’ Association (CPHVA)
The CPHVA is the UK professional body that represents registered nurses and health visitors who work in a primary or community health setting. This includes over half the school nurses in the UK.

This web site will be particulary useful for young people between the ages of 13 - 17 who experience a occasional or regular episodes of bedwetting, daytime wetting, or soiling.
Water is Cool in School
ERIC launched the ‘Water is Cool in School’ campaign in October 2000, to promote access to and provision of drinking water for pupils throughout the school day.
Views of pupils
A report from the Children's Commissioner for Wales on the views of pupils on the state of their school toilets. Carried out in 2004, it includes the Commissioners' main findings and recommendations.
UK Paruresis Trust
Paruresis means urinating (having a wee) in the presence of others (including in a cubicle if there are other people about) is difficult or impossible. The trust is a charity run by volunteers who are sufferers themselves.
Parcopresis help site
Parcopresis is the inability to defecate (have a poo) in the presence of others (or if there are other people nearby).
Child advocate site
An American site, concerned with the denial of toilet use at school. The site manager, Laurie A Couture, is an advocate for the human rights of young people. The site includes information on the medical effects of not allowing pupils to go to the toilet when they need to.
Research project
This features a research project by undergraduate students of the Faculty of the Built Environment, University of the South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Six projects looked at the state of school toilets in Sydney. There is a summary of each project and their key findings.

TUC campaign
The TUC 'Gotta go' campaign, launched in 2003 to force Britain's bosses to treat their workers with respect and provide them with the right to paid time off to go to the toilet.
Free2Pee Campaign
This campaign is run by the disability charity SCOPE. It calls for an end to ‘disablism’ in society and a major improvement in the way disabled people are perceived and treated.
